Ramp or Flight line Air Data Test Sets

D.Marchiori (DMA) manufacture various RVSM Air Data Test Set models for troubleshooting, leak testing and certification of aircraft pitot-static systems. The feature rich MPSXX Air Data Test Set range enable rapid calibration of altimeters, airspeed indicators, mach indicators, vertical speed indicators, Air Data Computers (ADC), testing of Angle of Attack (AoA) system probes and other avionic pitot-static components. Starting with the low cost MPS38B RVSM ADTS the range includes the MPS31C civil ADTS, the MPS27C ADTS and the MPS34C and flightline ADTS with laboratory accuracy. The MPS35C and MPS39C control three pressures separately and independently to verify the Angle of Attack (AoA) as well as Static and Pitot pressures, for use with 'Smart' type pitot tubes. The MPS40C/MPS41C are 4 channel ADTS with 2 channels of AoA. New for September 2010, the ultra compact MPS43 weighs under 4kg and provides full automatic control with RVSM accuracy.

A wide range of options are available for the Air Data Test Sets with some models pre-configured with certain options:

All the ramp/flight line ADTS are portable and can also be used in the laboratory. ADWIN PC software allows control of the test systems from a standard PC. In all models low power consumption generates negligible heat and allows the highest accuracy available today. Optionally the ADTS can be remotely controlled by a PDA Pocket PC with Bluetooth connection (no cables required). The user interface ensures all the functions are easily controlled with a minimum of key strokes. The instruments are all ready for use and within the accuracy band at the conclusion of the initialisation / self test procedure.

All the Air Data Test Sets have battery power either fitted as standard or available as an option (external option for the MPS38b). This allows the test sets to be operated away from ac power or to continue to be used during power failure.

All models are supplied complete with internal pumps running 'on demand' to achieve maximum life duration and low electrical power consumption. Noise level is very low, a welcome feature when the ADTS is used in the workshop.  

30 User test profiles are programmable and executable, each with 26 test points, enabling repetitive tests such as FAR43 testing to easily be performed with high repeatability.

Calibration is accomplished through user adjustment of calibration constants without the requirement for hardware adjustments.

Laboratory Air Data Test Sets

DMA is a leading manufacturer of Air Data Test Set models for laboratory use achieving the highest accuracy and resolution. The MPS36 is digitally controlled through a keyboard, it uses the most accurate pressure sensors currently available, with a special characterisation for maximum accuracy (for static channel �2 feet at s.l.) Pressure resolution of 0.2 Pa.is also achievable. The intuitive user interface ensures that all the functions are controlled with a minimum of key presses. The ADTS can be used in avionics ATE systems for automated pitot-static testing through RS232 and/or GPIB/IEEE488. An internal or external rack mounted pump unit can be supplied as an option.

Associated Products

The MPSRE Remote Touch Screen terminal provides an alternative control unit for all ADTS apart from the MPS38B. It includes a USB port for test program download and results storage.

The EPU8E is an external power unit, which allows the MPS31C or the MPS38B to operate for one working day without any external power source.

• Extend the ADTS working time to 8 hours without external power.
• The system can be recharged while operating the ADTS.

The EPU6E is an external power unit for the MPS43, extending the battery life to 6 hours.

Pressure and Vacuum Generators

The EPS1/EPSR1 provide pressure and vacuum supplies for the MPS36. Available in flight line or rack mount.

The DMAKV2 provides vacuum for static adaptor hold down.

Pitot-static Adaptors

A large variety of pitot-static adaptors can be supplied to interface Air Data Test Sets to aircraft and helicopters. The adaptors are supplied in a rugged waterproof case, complete with PVC pipes, red warning flags, pneumatic connections to ADTS, and in some instances with suction fixing pipe stands to aircraft static ports. A colour code allows the identification of the static or pitot ports connected, this feature is useful when using the Multiple Isolator Option available on our ADTS. Adaptors have a special design to safeguard the aircraft pitot static ports, which could be damaged if poor quality fixing devices are used. DMA provide full adaptor and hose kits for aircraft utilising pneumatic Angle of Attack systems including multi probe systems interfacing with the MPS instruments fitted with Multi port switching.See the DMAKV2 above for static adaptor hold down.
